Nick Chinlund nació y creció en el Este de Harlem, Nueva York; hijo de un ministro episcopal, con frecuencia asistía a seminarios religiosos en Manhattan. Estudió Historia y jugó basquetbol en la Universidad de Brown. Sin embargo a raíz de un accidente tuvo que dejar este deporte; continúo en Brown donde desarrolló su pasión por el teatro.

Nick Chinlund was born-and-raised in East Harlem, New York; the son of an Episcopal minister, attended Friends Seminary in Lower Manhattan. He went on to major in History and play basketball at Brown University. But his hoops career was cut short when he suffered an injury during his freshman year. He stayed at Brown where he developed his love of theater

Nick Chinlund has created memorable characters in many big budget studio films and worked with many A-list stars and Oscar winners such as: Denzel Washington in Training Day (2001), opposite Nicholas Cage in Con Air (1997), Bruce Willis in Tears of the Sun (2003), Antonio Banderas in The Legend of Zorro (2005), Arnold Schwarzenegger in Eraser (1996), Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon 3 (1992), Vin Diesel in The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) and Milla Jovovich in the sci-fi hit UltraViolet (2006).

El Sr. Chinlund a protagonizado un largo listado de películas en el cine independiente americano. Ha continuado su carrera cinematográfica en films como Chutney Popcorn (1999), la comedia Amyʼs O (2001), Buenas Noches Joseph Parker (2004), y recientemente La Vida Precoz y Breve De Sabina Rivas, bajo la dirección de Luis Mandoki.

Mr. Chinlund has starred in many independent films. Notably, starring in 1997's A Brother's Kiss where he also served as executive producer. A Brother's Kiss was filmed in and around the neighborhood where he grew up and received great critical acclaim. He has continued to work in high-quality, independent features such as Chutney Popcorn (1999), the comedy Amyʼs O (2001), Goodnight Joseph Parker (2004), and most recently, Luis Mandokiʼs The Precocious and Brief life of Sabina Rivas, to be released in 2012.

Nick recently did a recurring role as an Israeli fashion industry entrepreneur on the final season of HBOʼs How To Make It In America. He is currently in upcoming episodes of Made in Jersey, Golden Boy, and recurring on ABC's soon-to-be-hit, 666 Park Avenue. His many credits include shows such as the CSIʼs, the Law & Orderʼs, House, The Mentalist, The Sopranos, X-Files, Human Target, Third Watch, and Desperate Housewives. Chinlund currently divides his time between New York and Los Angeles.
